State Rep. Tom Kunse (R-Clare) today issued the following statement urging the Michigan Senate to work with the House on a responsible deal to fix Michigan’s roads as part of ongoing state budget negotiations as the July 1 deadline has arrived:
“The people of Michigan are counting on us to get this done. The House has put forward a responsible plan that prioritizes road repairs without raising taxes or wasting taxpayer dollars. We even received support from associations around the state. Now it’s time for the Senate to come to the table and make a deal.
“Michigan drivers can’t afford another year of dodging potholes and watching critical infrastructure deteriorate. This is a chance for both chambers to work together and finalize a budget that delivers real solutions. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to sit down with the House and hammer out a deal that puts Michigan families first.”
