State Rep. Tom Kuhn (R-Troy) testified before the Senate Committee on Regulatory Affairs on behalf of his bill to name May Chaldean American Month in Michigan.

Kuhn was joined in testimony by Rep. Ron Robinson. House Bill 4303, sponsored by Kuhn, recognizes the cultural, economic, and civic contributions of Chaldean Americans to Michigan and the United States.

The bill was subsequently voted out of the Senate committee, with the support of all Senators present except Paul Wojno, who passed.

“Chaldean Americans are a vital part of Michigan’s story, and this bill highlights their ongoing role in shaping our communities,” said Kuhn. “Recognizing May as Chaldean American Month not only honors their heritage, but also promotes greater understanding and appreciation for the diverse threads that make up our state’s identity.”
